Simulated Game Shooting on Royal Deeside

At Dessmuir Estate on Royal Deeside we offer shooting days for a team of up to ten guns which can be enjoyed as a "warm up" before the season starts or as a complete alternative to live game shooting. 

You will receive a warm and friendly welcome to your parties’ exclusive day at Dessmuir. Your group will be treated to some exciting shooting where clay pigeons instead of “live” game will be sent over your team of guns. The “birds” will vary in height, speed and direction ensuring a testing but most enjoyable days shooting. Between drives, you will have the opportunity to not only enjoy each other’s company but also some of the best views on Deeside.

Full days will normally start at 9.00am with coffee and rolls and a brief introduction. The morning will consist of three drives followed by lunch at Boddomend. Once lunch has “settled” you will be treated to another two drives in the afternoon. The day will finish with coffee at the house.

Our half days start with the normal coffee & rolls and three drives followed by a light lunch. If you have a preference for a later start, perhaps with lunch before you set off to the hill, then please call to discuss.

We try to make the experience as near as possible to a traditional game shooting day, therefore we ask that, where possible, you dress as you would on such a day.

Simulated game shooting will take place in all weathers. Only if conditions are extreme would we consider cancelling, so come prepared!
